one of my favorite attributes of God is His Sovereignty. it is so mind boggling that it comforts me. i mean, who wants to know that that Supreme Being of the universe can be figured out and understood by the human mind.
yes, we have been created with an amazing capacity to reason and imagine and create (little "c"), but we are finite beings with finite power and finite influence--and the little we have was all given to us by God, by the way
so when i get to whirling around in my mind about how things can be, how they should happen, what if this and what if that, i need a reality check that i am not setting the time table and i am not capable of giving anyone desire to do the things i'd like for them to.
at this point there is understandable disappointment and frustration, but i thank God for His grace of those reminders because then i'd be prone to running off on my own tangent. i am actually praying for more of those so i can stay right where God would have me.
this scene ministered to me greatly and i'd like to share it here, and state that my task is to prepare a field. i am committed to the task God has placed before me. i need to look to Him alone for strength and endurance and grace--His agenda WILL SUCCEED.
