it's been a bit awkward to see those MOPS articles from a few years ago. the epiphany about praying for my kids' salvation was a turning point for me as a mother. so much freedom in recognizing who is really in control--and it's not me, thank GOD!
also, got to see how much my attitude about my job has changed. i was headed down a very bad road, embittered and frustrated. i do not live there now, and i am grateful to God for His grace. i love my life and even when there are struggles i know they are simply part of God's training for my life. no experience, no circumstance, no pain is wasted--they all move me closer to Him.
mike and i got some time this morning and i wanted to write the poem that was in our devotional--it was our prayer.
i really liked it and think i want to have it in front of us more often...i think i'll see about finding the whole thing.
I surrender to you my hopes,
my dreams,
my ambitions.
Do with them what you will, when you will, as you will.
I place into your loving care
my family,
my friends,
my future.
Care for them with a care that I can never give.
I release into your hands
my need to control,
my craving for status,
my fear of obscurity....
For Jesus' sake, amen.
